should i learn piano or guitar first
I'd say piano, you will develop a hand strength and coordination that will be applyable on guitar later, but the other way around would be harder, as for the 'sound', i don't agree, if you study properly music theory and learn to tune you guitar correctly you will get the right sound for the note and will pick up the tones from other instruments.. As part of learning the piano you will need to learn to read music - this translates perfectly to the guitar once you learn the scales. but if you start on guitar and just learn tab, that does not carry a parallel on the piano side. tab is a one-way notation format. so i'd also vote for piano first, guitar next.. Should i take piano lessons before learning guitar? i want to be musically inclined and learn how to play guitar. however, i've been told that it's best to take piano lessons first, because if you can play the piano you can play anything..
